Default Classic Car Bumper Hitch on G9

Had to show ya'll this and of course it comes with a story
My good friend and neighbor was garage cleaning 7-8 years ago and I rescued this hitch and a Snap-On tach/dwell meter and inductivetiming light.
The hitch is off his F-I-L's '59 Impala which now has it's own "room" in his house, that's how much he loves it (no, not a trailer house). So I sanded, painted, re-threaded the hardware, installed on the bumper by cutting the lip out of the top,"inletted" the bottom for the clamp and "voila", a pretty cool, not-much-load-bearing hitch! The only weak spot is the bumper itself, not the hitch. I'm fabbing a front receiver anyway so this will only see light trailer duty anyway........

Looks good man '59 that's an old timer. Nice simple design.

I'm pretty sure it was after-market then, but it's still from a classic. There are no cast markings that I can see, but maybe an old Valley hitch? Anyway, these guys also have an immaculate 67 Vette tri-power so I'm happy just to hang around for a ride now and then!

Nothing wrong with the hitch or bumper. Always adds more style if a story comes with it!!
