Yamaha G2 Starter Generator output for LED's
Hello I am very new to the cart world and picked up a 1986 G2 from a friend. I am Looking for information on the amperage output of the Starter Generator on my G2. I am adding 72 watts of LED's so that is 6 amps of power that will be wired straight to the battery. I was wondering if the starter Generator will still have enough current to keep the battery charged and stay functioning properly.
Thank you for all the help. |

Thanks much for the reply. With that amount of power I can do a lot more than just some little LED's. Maybe the stereo is next!

Re: Yamaha G2 Starter Generator output for LED's
The generator only puts out 15 amps, and that is at high RPM. Your ok up to about 8 amps for accessories!! For a reliable car, I wouldn't push more than that tho!!
