belt slipping
have been noticing that my g14 would stop pulling and you could smell and hear the belt slipping. well i installed a new belt with the same results. belt will start to slip. is there any adjustment to move the motor forward or something im overlooking?

maybe a worn clutch plate.

Check the rear clutch. A snap ring holds the spring seat away from rear end housing and they have been know to break. Check that and the spring itself. If that s the problem I would recommend getting a new sliding sleve and heavier spring to go back together.

will check the stuff yall mentioned. but did notice when i took the old belt off it was reall easy to come off, i thought amybe it was scretched, but when i installed the new one it slid right one with no problem. like the motor is to far back.

Where is the belt seating on the rear sleve, top middle or bottom?
Pull up on the belt and see how easy the rear sleve slides in . |

Maybe a broken tensioner or motor mounts.

ya my g9 does the same thing if the belt gets wet, but on the primary clutch

checked motor mounts, clutch. both were fine. installed smaller yamaha belt. works perfect.

Something had to change for it to all of a sudden need a shorter belt. Glad to hear it's working.
