Did Yamaha use to make a G9 6 seater in 1993?
Hi and thanks for taking the time to read this.
I recently acquired a Yamaha G9A. According to the serial number it is from 1993. The car has 6 seats and is rather long (13' long). When I go to download the manual I can only find the manual for a 2 seater, not a 6 seater. I called Yamaha support and they could not find any indication of a 6 seater back then, or any parts associated with it, but then again the person on the phone was more interested in getting my personal details than helping out. My question is: Would any of you know if Yamaha actually used to make this model as a 6 seater in 1993? Or was this car completely modified? I am trying to identify the specs of the cart including how much weight the chassis can take. Maybe there are better ways to do this. Thank you very much, Maraca |

Look underneath at the frame construction/welds. Factory quality welds might be hard to duplicate.

No "stretched" G1/G2/G9/G8 that I know of. Dealer's did it. It isn't hard to do if you can get longer shift/accelerator and choke cables.

But wait, I'm pretty sure there were stretch vehicles made by Yamaha during that era. It was a custom order thing through what is now known as "Yamaha specialty vehicles" through Yamaha golf cars. All stretch vehicles were "custom order" until the Drive, when the long "SVS" and extra long "SVL" became a designated model. (with the only exception I am sure of being the G-20 model, which was not available in standard golf cart length). We have some G-2 "sports haulers" at a local HS (we sold to them) that I am pretty sure were Yamaha built. As far as any "specialty vehicle" G-8s, I have never seen one, but who knows. It does leave some impossible specialty vehicles to the imagination, like a sunclassic stretch.
