Default YamahaG2 / Winter Project

Hopefully correctly attached two photos of my 86' G2 project in the works. Rhino lined the roof, 4" lift & 22" Led. I will be putting the mossy oak camo vinyl wrap on her shortly and building a custom utility cart to convert into seating. More to come !

Sweet. No tires bigger than 22" (some 22" even rub with "economy lift kit"). That's why I took mine off.

I have 1991 G2a in need of makeover. I'm thinking about adding a lift, larger tires, but most importantly, new paint or wrap before April 2017. I'll be watching your thread. Please keep us posted of your progress, and good luck.

Thanks guys - not looking to put larger tires then 22 on. This will Ben used for light off road pre cut tracks. Haven't started tire shopping yet. Hoping to find a descent deal to fit stock wheels. Planning on having the wrap on after Christmas. Going with the wrap simply for re sale purposes and it also looks awesome. If someone doesn't like it .... just take off.

22 atv tires usually don't work with stock wheels and its unsafe on a lifted cart. The atv tires are wider and hit the inside because stock wheels have no offset. Aftermarket wheels stick out more and clear the inner frame/well/etc parts. They also make the track wider, the cart is tippy lifted and you really need a wider track to help stay away from roll overs. I've been on one with stock wheels lifted to run 22s and can tell you even on a sidehill its not good at all. Anyway you can get wheels pretty cheap even steel ones. Unless you have a way to mount new 22s you may want to buy them mounted anyway, here they charge you enough to almost make it worth it. ATV tires are much more durable and do not puncture, but much harder to mount than lawn tires too. Just my opinion.

22s on a G2/9 if you go larger they hit the rear bumper mounts you have to cut them off or move them. The lift can get the cradle angled too far also, you should move the mounts lower. Should also move them rearward because the larger than 22 tire will start hitting in front of the tire and you need to move the cradle back to center the tire better in wheel well. You already have to cut the rocker back to fit 22s.

G2 carts are a good platform for a build. Sounds like you have a plan for a good one.

Wrapped cart can look really good, not a bad way to go. I painted some carts they looked great but I never did mine for fear of getting all scratched up in the woods we have here. Then you have white cart body showing it sucks. If you don't run in the woods /etc its not such a worry. The wrap might stay on better, the paint (I used automotive) tends to pop loose if hit hard enough on the plastic.
