Default Gas tank work

Hi, I have an early 80's model 2 stroke G1. I replaced the seals so I had to cut the metal straps holding the gas tank off in order to remove it. They were so rusted that there was just no other way unfortunately. Does anyone have ideas about how to resecure the tank to the frame? If you have any advice for cleaning the tank that would be greatly appreciated too. I searched this forum and there were some posts containing gas tank info but not what I need.

I cleaned the outside of it with a $1.00 store cleaner degreaser made for grills. Worked great. Dump out old gas and spray some of the same into tank or you can use carb cleaner. Wrap a lint free towel on a flexible item such as coat hanger, wipe and flush with a little gas. I also installed new fuel guage, tank grommet and new pickup tube. I will check tomorrow to see if I have another set of straps I can sell you Have a great night and be safe. Happy New Years.

Weld some bolts on the original straps.

Not an option. I don't have the equipment and have never welded before.

Where you located? I'll bet there is a member close that would weld some bolts on for you. I have also seen threaded rod with a flat end with a hole in it, you could bolt it or pop rivet them on.
