Easy 33 mph with Plowman kit
I've been lurking here for a long time. I read all the posts about the Plowman kit a finally pulled the trigger on the performance kit for my son's 2011 Yamaha.
All I can say is wow! It was running 16 mph stock. I have not run the valves or made any carb adjustments and 1st pass was a gps 33 mph! Thats with my 250 lb butt on it with window up. I just had rotator cuff surgery so I haven't had the chance to finish up with Don as per his instructions. I had bypassed the governor so no need for the cable adjustments. I also purchased a new primary clutch from him instead of having him rebuild my old one. Don and his office are great and really take the time to talk to you about your needs. It was the best money I've spent. Tim |

Re: Easy 33 mph with Plowman kit
I was going 31 then I added wide tires. Now I'm only doing 29.
I don't care. ITs still worth it! |

Re: Easy 33 mph with Plowman kit
Ive never built a cart w Plowmans upgrades that didn't impress ... The best so far was a G22/357cc with 8:1 gears that ran all day at 38mph and still could climb hills without breaking a sweat (and THAT was on 20" Street tires). The only thing to consider that many people don't is that with the increase in speed and torque come some handling issues, especially with lifted carts (these carts were designed for 12mph on relatively smooth and level golf courses, remember) - while Yami suspensions are IMHO far better than the others, if You're on say 23" tires with a 6" lift it had better be a GOOD lift IE Long Travel, etc that is built for that sort of speed and handling, a spindle lift or A-arm lift with big tires can be a tricky ride at speeds over 30mph (and actually verging on dangerous if you don't respect the limitations that come with it). Just my 2 cents, Your mileage may vary, LOL

Re: Easy 33 mph with Plowman kit
I'm on a 3 inch spindle lift.
30 mph is borderline scarey. But that's why I love it |

Have to get your toe in just right for high speeds.
Plowmans is great no doubt, he can get some serious speed out of stock setups. |
