Default Anyone know the stock secondary springs?

Anyone know about the springs, I knew there was the stock G2/9 (45679) and the heavier umax spring (45849) but I did not know there is a G14 spring (40842) and a G23 gmax spring (45844). Far as I know all these carts use a similar or compatible secondary prior to the team clutches (the Drive) but please correct me if wrong.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

I need a new spring for my cloned G9, had a new stock one and it broke for some reason. Just curious about the other ones. I actually could use a lower (shorter length spring) initial pressure spring, the opposite of the umax, though the stock G9 is not bad. This is because of the primary clutch I am using, the 94 does not seem to want to shift at low speeds and light throttle. Have no idea why the spring broke, not like I have a twin in there but was pulling a load at the time. That makes it shift too much, way too much in slippery conditions then it bogs. Currently running the original old spring.

I see the G14 has a different sliding sheave number listed than the G2/9/22, could the ramps be different?

No takers on this one? I don't really want to buy all of them and see if there is a difference lol.

I was hoping he would be around, but I have that strange 94c clutch and it is far different in setup than the stock G9. Blame it on Slonomo...lol, ok don't hes a good guy but getting it to work right has been a fight. Its good at speed but slow operation is not how I want it. Maybe this spring is a little different it may work better for me. The G9 spring was pretty close until it broke. If this does not work I'll go back to it. I really need to know the length and strength of the spring, but nobody checks that on stock parts.

Worst part is if I get the rod and cam in there I may end up changing the clutching anyway, hopefully just the pucks in the 94c.

So the spring came today but was not in yamaha packaging (from ebay). It looks nice and new. This supposedly the G22 spring it measures 4.1" long near (but not including) the tangs and .177" wire give or take a thou. The end is made square I don't recall the G9 spring being flat on the end, I'll dig up my photo and see. The pics on ebay also show this squared and the G9 spring is not just the tangs bent on the end.

Here is pics of the new umax (in the bag) and my old decrepit G9 original spring, and another pic (in front of the clutch) of the umax used for a while and the sparkling new G9 spring that broke. You can see the ends of the G9 spring are not bent flat, while the Umax ends were flat...not quite as flat after a couple years use but still can tell the last round is not the same spiral as the center. The G22 spring has ends like the umax, but I am sure similar length to the G9. This G9 spring did come in a sealed yamaha bag.

Will that spring keep it from opening at a lower rpm?

I want it to open (shift) sooner at low rpm because of the clutch I run.

If you want it to rev more at low speeds you want the Umax spring it works great in stock carts, its the stock utility spring, it gives more power at lower speeds and takeoff. If you want more yet get a cut secondary sheave like CPP has (really helps under 5 mph because it gives a lower gear) and/or the HD kevlar belt will also help. I ran all three on my cart but the 94c clutch is not like the stock G9 clutch and does not like the umax spring. It wont shift much at low speeds it revs a LOT with the umax even with the stock spring its revving too much at low throttles, so I have to change the setup. Still like the cut sheave on there it really helps for towing.

I have a stock g29 with 23s, just trying to get a little more grunt, but it actually seems to do ok stock, until I decide if I want to big block it with an 18 vanny or 22 predator.
If I don't BB it, I may just get plowmans kit for about $500 but a BB would be nice to have in it.
If not maybe it's best to leave it be and BB the club cars
