G9 battery keeps going completely dead HELP
Hello BGW I am fooling around with a G9 I picked up. Cart will run fine for a few days, then it will be completely dead. Checked battery with the meter and it showed less than 1 volt. This is a new battery in the cart. When cart is running at full speed it is putting out 14.22 volts to the battery. Also cart only has headlights and horn. What could be causing it to drain my battery???? Thank you again

Re: G9 battery keeps going completely dead HELP
Put car in a semi dark place. Turn off ignition, lights , radio, etc. Remove positive battery cable, observe wheather there is a spark when touching battery cable end back to positive battery post. If there is a spark, you have a current draw (something drawing current from the battery). Start disconnecting circuits as you continue checking for a spark at battery post, one at a time. When it stops sparking, you've found your culprit!!

Re: G9 battery keeps going completely dead HELP
Troy, it probably does, but I've only had to do this once (like 30 yrs ago). And I think I used the positive cable!!

Re: G9 battery keeps going completely dead HELP
OK, I have taken all Accessories loose from the battery. I even unhooked the wire from solenoid to starter generator and disconnect the two small wires. So all I have is the main positive cable going to the solenoid and I am still getting a lil arc at the battery when I touch it to the post. Cart sat for 2 days and dropped 6 volts. HELP

Re: G9 battery keeps going completely dead HELP
You're going to have to start checking the wire harness for damage. Start under the floor beneath the brake, where the stop switch plugs in. Sounds like you've got 12v going to the frame...

I put the meter to the frame in a couple of places. Didn't get any reading from that. I can tell you there is alot of frame rusted away

Re: G9 battery keeps going completely dead HELP
Still have found nothing jumping out as to why I am loosing voltage. No power has been detected on the frame at all. I know the battery cables look pitiful, but I don't think that would cause voltage loss.
