Default Yamaha Gas Cart ID

I need help figuring out what year this old cart is. I cant find the serial tag anywhere. I think its a G1 but need a year so I can find a service manual. Is there a serial on the engine somewhere that could help? This thing looks weird. LOL.

It's a G1a. Serial could be on the top of the tube between rear shocks, or on the steel support just in front of the rear bumper (bumper is missing, support is still there).

1983 and up, because it has an air chamber at the back of the cylinder shrouding. Never saw a G14 to G22 "4 drink holder" dash panel installed on a G1 before...seems to fit great. Get rid of the electric fuel pump, if it is nor regulated below 2 psi, you'll flood out the engine. Cool car

Agreed with small block on the electronic fuel pump usually a diaphragm pump will stop working when crank seals go out preventing the motor from leaning out and scoring a piston where electronic will keep going and create a large problem

Holy Crap! I was looking for an actual tag like whats on my 75 HD cart. There are holes there so I thought the tag was missing!

Apologies. I took a wire wheel to the areas highlighted and low and be hold.
It looks to read:
J31-008213 Lots of rusty scale there so very hard to read.

I will remove that fuel pump as I though it would be to much also. It has changed hands a few times and not been run. I was told it was hard to start after running it so probably flooding out. Something about not starting in reverse also so ive got some trouble shooting to do soon as soon I get a service manual in my hands.

Also it looks to have oil mixed in the gas tank and the oil injector is still hooked up. are there ways to test the oil injection system?

Thank you everyone!

Are the headlights a stock item or did someone add them?

Looks like an 84 model year.....
