Default Electrical issue Yamaha g16

I backed my g16 out of the garage. All of a sudden it just died. When I push the accelerator down I hear a buzzing noise. I have checked both the key switch and accelerator switch and both are good. The coil its self is buzzing and will burn up if the accelerator is left on to long. The starter itself is not turning over at all. I'm thinking it's the relay or the voltage regulator? Not sure how to test either of those? Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks guys!

Start with checking the condition of the battery and starter belt.

You can probably take the voltage regulator off the list. All those do is make sure that the engine, when running, isn't putting out too much voltage to hurt other stuff. Being that your engine isn't running your regulator is not in play.

Sorry, I don't know anything specific to a G16!

I have fed up getting it to run last night!! Took the battery tester to the battery ( while still hooked up to the cart) and it barely had enough juice to turn the tester on. Took the battery out and it tested good. Cleaned the battery terminals on the battery and cables and it fired right up!!!

If I had a dime for every time I tore a cart all apart only to find out something dumb was the problem and that the cart didn't need all tore apart, well, I would have a lot of dimes.

Good work.
