You do.... Not literally, but... Never seen or heard of a factory top for a G1. What this means for you is, you must order a windshield to fit whatever aftermarket roof you may be blessed with (so many different were made over the years, identifying yours may be unlikely). you must take measurements of your roof supports witdh & height, then order the closest existing thing (or order custom made).

Keeping in mind the G1 hinges the entire body backwards, most don't have any front roof supports - they would have to be removed every time you want to "lift the lid". Without those front supports there's nothing to mount a windshield to. I've seen a couple creative solutions with quick disconnects like clamps or wing nuts, but they were home made. Unfortunately you, or someone on your behalf, need to get creative and fabricate something you can live with.

You are correct I'm fortunate that someone has already done this. And it very slick. The framing has a bracket bolted to it and the roof has a pull down spring loaded connector. Works very well.

So if you already have a "frame", next step is to take measurements: How wide is the windshield area frame, Outside of the tube to outside. Then how tall is the opening from the cowl to the roof. There are many different sizes made for other carts. You'll just have to be creative in how you mount the windshield to the framework. No one I'm familiar with makes a windshield specifically for the G1, there is no standard way to mount it.

Over all width is 35 inches. Height is 36. I looked for about a hour lastnight and everything is way too wide 38-40 inches. I may just buy a piece of 3/16 acrylic and cut I just wanted the option to flip it down.

If you get one of the 38" wide and carefully drill holes to "bolt on" through the uprights of your frame (just the lower section of course), you would have a little overhang on each side - but I've seen that done successfully. You would have to figure out how to secure the top section when in the UP position though, since the frame would be inset slightly.

Bought a flip down windshield had to cut 15/8 off both sides. Then I took the part that was cut off and used a vice to hold over the windshield and transferred the wholes over. Fits perfect. I now have a G1 with a flip down windshield. Thanks for the help and guidance.
