G2 running rich and back firing
I have a 1989 Yamaha G2. I had the governor removed from the cart. The cart has been running really rich and backfiring here recently. It did not do this right after the governor was removed, it has just started here recently. Is this possibly an issue caused by the governor removal, or just a coincidence ? Perhaps a bad carb ? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

It's been my experience that most backfires are caused by the carb's throttle butterfly not closing all the way but there can be other causes as well. Here is a link to a recent post that has some info. It's for a G1 but the same work applies:
