Default G2 steering squeak

Hey guys,

I adjuster the steering on my G2 today to take out some of the play. I followed the service manual and now the cart handles much better but it squeaks when I turn the wheel and it did not do this before. I tried loosening the adjustment screw to see if maybe I went to far but it still squeaks. Any ideas on what I did wrong or maybe a way to fix it?

Thank you,

Sam

the way it was told to me is.. take off the cover to the steering box and fill it FULL of grease. Then replace the cover, jack up the front end to get the front wheels off the ground. Tighten the adjuster til you can feel some drag, than back it off a pinch and lock down the nut.

So I adjusted it the way you described but i didnt pack it full of grease so maybe that is where my issue lies, I'm gonna give that a shot now.

Thank you!

Check the other stuff, your tie rod ends and kingpin bushings. Yes that is right way to set box, it usually gets tight at full turn and loosest in center, and you can't have it get tight anywhere so make sure you test at full turn after you adjust it.
