Default G9 help

Okay my Yamaha buddies here, I need some help with this G9 cart I'm working on for a friend from the campgrounds. The cart was dead, it wouldn't even turn over.. he had hooked up a newer/different battery backwards.. I found that issue was the 10 amp fuse was blown. Cart still wouldn't start but was at least turning over. Things I have done so far are.. took out the fuel filter from the tank and put in an inline filter. I took carburetor to work and ran it through our ultrasonic cleaner and put back on.. I put in a new spark plug.. reset the valves, exhaust was pretty loose.. I have about 12.5 volts at the battery, cranking it doesn't drop below 11 volts.. I borrowed a compression tester from my buddy.. it only has 90 pounds of compression.. I am getting fuel, the plug is wet.. I have spark.. low compression, it acts like it wants to start but just won't hit and fire. Anyone got anything for me to try? Been thinking about swapping parts from my G2 until I get lucky, but really don't want to go to that extreme..

cgtech..sho305..smallblock Dave.. you guys got anything for me? is there a min. amount of compression needed to fire a 4 stroke engine? I have read in here where people have 150# or more, I'm wondering if the ole girl is tired and worn out with just 90#

Check the battery ground cable, clean and good condition both ends.

Did you do the compression check at wide open throttle? Crank the engine over while choking, then pull the spark plug and see if it's wet. Get a dynamic spark tester and check for spark. Then let us know what you found.

A dynamic spark tester? 10.00 at an auto parts store.
