Default G2 not charging battery

Ok so I have read a bunch of post and still having problems. I have changed starter generator and still wont charge. I have changed voltage regulator and still wont charge. What is the actual wire that charges battery. Is there a way to jump it to see if I have a bad wire somewhere? Does that switch under pedal have anything to do with it? All help is appreciated.

I don't have a G2 so this is just a thought to get you some input. I have worked on few carts that had "battery not charging" problems. Invariably, the problem was one of three three things:

Starter / Gen (check)
Voltage Reg. (check)
Improper wiring as it relates to the above two components (not sure if you checked it)

If you haven't done so, get a wiring diagram from the stickies and trace the wires going to / from voltage regulator and the starter generator. Don't go by how it was wired before and don't assume the color codes of the wires are correct. Go with the diagram, wire by wire, from start to end, between those components. It's easy for a wire to be attached at the wrong place somewhere.

If you go to this link:

at post #5 you will find your G2 wiring diagram. You can check the generator output by grounding the green wire of the regulator while the engine is running. Voltage at the battery should be over 14 volts with green wire grounded. Just do this only momentarily and also be sure to have wheels elevated off the ground or in neutral if possible. This applies "full field" current to the generator windings and results in full generator output. If it fails this test, check to see that red wire on regulator has voltage. Good luck - RAY

This schematic covers the G2 also. First question -- does it start? If it starts you most likely have a broken wire someplace in the regulator circuit or a bad regulator.I had lots of electrical problems with my G2. I'd fix one wire after another -- the harder I'd drive on the trails the worst it got. I totally rewired it when installed my big block. I also have an on board alternator under the flywheel and use an electric starter. The wiring is much cleaner. No problems every scene

Thanks I will try those ideas. Also could the solenoid that all red wires tie into be bad? Thats really the only thing I haven't changed.

If the cart is turning over when you press the accelerator pedal, the solenoid is likely ok. The red wire that energizes the solenoid is the same circuit that should be energizing the voltage regulator. RAY
