yamaha g8 solenoid
I think my solenoid is going bad. Every time it start to go it hesitates for a second and then it starts moving. During the hesitation the cart jerks and sputters before going. I was told it could be a solenoid going bad, was wondering if a car solenoid would work or not. I'm thinking as long as it is a 12 volt one it should. Any help/info/input will be greatly appreciated.

Re: yamaha g8 solenoid
"Jerks and sputters" makes me think it's a clutch problem. If the drive (engine) clutch doesn't open all the way the belt is staying tight and the starter is trying to start the engine AND move the cart at the same time. Makes the starter work a lot harder than it's intended to.
If the solenoid were the problem it would not do anything (no power going to the starter) during it's momentary failures. |
