Default G1 Brake Pedal

The brake pedal on my 1988 G1 does not return to the upright position after being depressed. I use my foot to pull it back to release it. Have cleaned and WD40 the pedal assembly. Is there an adjustment or are the springs bad. The brake cables don't seem to be binding that I can see. This is my first post. Thanks.

Welcome G1owner! Sounds like the brake pedal pivot return spring is broken. Very easy fix....if the bolt isn't rusted in. Good luck Dave

Hello : I had a brake lever spring break too : Funny that Dave mentioned having a rusty bolt . I heated , beat . then decided to drill it out . Well that bolt is a 10 mm and about 2" long that was stuck .

I hope your goes easier than mine did . Richard

Broken or just worn out return spring. Getting the bolt out can be a real bear if when the cart was serviced, that pivot point was not addressed.

There is a good way to get the bolt out with a impact gun and pickle fork
