Re manufactured or used Yamaha G16A Engine
Any one know anywhere to find re manufactured Yamaha G16A engines? Pretty sure mine is dead. I'm just going to drop a new engine in it. I priced some new ones and the lowest I could find is $1,200. Not really trying to send that much especially since I paid nothing for the cart. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If you buy a new engine from Yamaha, it will be the JR6-19001-00-00. That should be the 357cc G22 engine. A nice upgrade.

Re: Re manufactured or used Yamaha G16A Engine
So I can slap a G22 engine in my G16A? Excuse my ignorance regarding golf carts. This is all new to me. Any special items needed to install a G22 engine in a G16A?
Thank you for the feed back. I called Plowmans as well. Left a message for return call. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Re manufactured or used Yamaha G16A Engine
The dealer here had rebuilt short and long blocks when mine puked, just take yours down there and trade. I have not been there for some time because I ended up putting a clone in there for more power, nice for the offroad stuff I ride in. Lot easier to toss a stock motor in, the swap is a project, though with kits it is much easier now days. 357 is a great motor if you want that.

I just looked at a 2008 Yamaha today. This is all new to me... What is the popular cart on this site?

Re: Re manufactured or used Yamaha G16A Engine
I think the yamaha is the best cart but everyone has their opinion. I also only use gas carts and look at the mods I would need on a cart for my offroad riding, that is why I don't really like CC carts but I would take an ezgo. For your use it may be different, for stock carts and use they all work well try them and see what you like. Some just end up with a cart because it was on sale or popular in their area. I don't know how to tell if one is more popular, as maybe it gets more posts because it has more problems....maybe not? I don't know. Some places you must have electric, some prefer them, I have little use for one. Of course it depends on what you want the cart for as to what one might fit the best.

Re: Re manufactured or used Yamaha G16A Engine
I don't know who sold the most carts other than the yamaha G1 back in the 80s outsold everyone. Certain years of newer yamaha drive had issues or recalls on the team clutches, otherwise good carts. Any cart will do just some have better aspects for certain things, the yamaha tend to have better suspension to lift and offroad, well built cart, hack the governor and you are doing around 30mph with 22 tires and all you really need is a $15 spring in the secondary for non team clutch yamahas, G2 and up.
