Default rear end oil level

i have a 1987, g2 i now how to put the oil in, how do i know when it has enough, thanks

A G2 transaxle will have a drain bolt at the bottom. There is a "fill level" bolt on the side of the case you take out. Add the gear lube thru the vent tube opening till it oozes out the level hole.

just removed the bolt on the side and oil ran out, guess i had it too full

This is for a axle that is sitting level, a lifted cart needs to be jacked up in the back until the cradle/axle is level.

Yep. What he said.
Same thing hold true for engine oil level.
The first time I changed my engine oil I jacked the back of the cart up until transaxle was level. Drained oil. Filled back up. Checked on dipstick and all was good.
Let cart back down and used a file to make a mark at where oil should be when full.
