Red face Rebuilt G16 smoking like a train!

I overhauled my 2002 G16A. Cylinder bored .25mm over.new piston, new rings, new valves, new bearings. I used a Yamaha manual to do all the work. Everything was done according to the manual. Started up and it smokes like crazy. What are some things I need to look for. I've already broke it back down and rechecked everything and installed new rings again. Still the same outcome. Help!!

Did it smoke before? Might have to run it for awhile to clear oil out the exhaust

Agreed also if you used assembly lube or a lot of oil during rebuild it make take awhile to burn that off also

You might also want to run a compression test for more ideas.

Maybe the oil rings were not staggered right or the intake valve seals were not installed. Just a thought.
