G1 J10 Solenoid Help
Hey All -
Could anyone help decipher how I might wire my G1 J10 cart to run in the forward direction on 1 solenoid? I have attached a photo of the mess. The other one is obviously bad.. |

Re: G1 J10 Solenoid Help
Don't think you can get both directions off 1 solenoid. You can wire the good 1 to give you forward and just do without reverse. Or you can pick up a new solenoid for under a $100.

Re: G1 J10 Solenoid Help
Thanks Spicy! Exactly what I was asking.. I switched the yellow wire over to to the other solenoid and nothing.. thought I heard a click a few times but no movement of the starter or motor.
Going to test the starter/generator now - If both solenoids are shot I will be selling the motor here to put toward an engine swap! |

Re: G1 J10 Solenoid Help
Have you considered converting it from switching relays to a mechanical f&r like G2-G16e had?

I know you know your stuff but wouldn't it be cheaper and easier to convert to to new style solenoids rather and swapping rearends for the mechanical f/r |

I did the starter / generator test in the stickies here it actually slowly spun the motor and the cart wanted to move forward. When I was getting it to click I had the f1 and a1 wires wires connected to the solenoid and the yellow signal wire but the starter/motor would not spin. Tried the test again then got a spark after touching the 2 leads and now no power to the cart. I was getting the backup sound when the key was turned to reverse. |
