Despairing clutch...
After all his troubles, my friend installed a brand new primary clutch from CPP (CPP05); it is the very exact same I installed on mine more than a year ago without any trouble.
But on his, after a couple of weeks, it was moving a bit so I opened it and discovered all 6 plastic sliders were all broken and felt apart (see part #14 on attached picture of the G16-A clutch which is very similar if not the same). What could have caused this to happen? What can he do before arranging his new clutch or it will happen again... I am starting to lose hope for him... Thanks |

Re: Despairing clutch...
Wow! I have never seen those "broken into pieces" before, and I have seen a few clutches in my cart wrenching days. He's running a engine with reasonable or stock hp? Wow! Still, never seen those broken, even on V-twins. Spider not tight enough? (But on a new clutch?) Crazy! Never once seen that before!

Re: Despairing clutch...
Original Yamaha engine (301cc same as G16-A)... Still having his governor (quite low even, so no over rpm); anyway this clutch is supposed to be able to handle it.
I am afraid the bushing perhaps will also need to be changed, no idea... |

Re: Despairing clutch...
Did your friend get a new clutch from CPP ? I want to purchase a clutch for my G2 and didn’t see anything about a warranty on their web site .
