G1 Engine vs. sled engines
Hello all, I'm a very new member, so forgive me if I have overlooked this information in my searches. I have found significant comparisons of this G1 engine to the 250cc Bravo/Enticer engine, but see a lot of similarities to the mid 70's exciter gp433 2 cylinder engine. They appear to have the same stroke/bore from my reading, and are both Reed induction engines, though the exciter engine is ported much more aggressively.
I'm curious if anyone is familiar enough with these engines to know if the jug from our G1 would fit the gp433 bottom end. My thought is using the top end of the G1 to keep the low end, but add a cylinder for more grunt down low. Hopefully this would also allow me to keep reverse by running the engine backwards. |

Re: G1 Engine vs. sled engines
the g1 engine is related to the old 250 enticer and what preceded it, the bravo 250. you can swap electronics off the g1 onto the bravo 250 and keep reverse.
per this thread http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/big-b...lockin-g1.html i do not know anything about gp433. i think some have swapped in the 340 enticer engine and still had reverse but do not know how they kept reverse nor have a found a full thread on the topic. |

Re: G1 Engine vs. sled engines
you sir are correct.
I did some research hoping to find the crank bearings being the same thinking a crank and cylinder swap may be possible. Doesn't look to be the case though |

Re: G1 Engine vs. sled engines
I've looked at those and from what I read it sounds like you could just drop the top end on your G1 engine. You would want the carb/intake, but I'm pretty sure it will bolt on our engine case.
What I don't like about the Bravo/Enticer jug is the porting is tuned for a higher rpm power band, so low end will not be so good and the primary clutch would benefit from a higher engagement rpm significantly. What I'm looking at is placing a pair of our G1 jugs on a 2 cylinder sled bottom end. In theory, I would keep the low end G1 power band, but improve power/torque from the spare cylinder. Lots of things to figure out, but it would be interesting. |

Re: G1 Engine vs. sled engines
I did a bump of Slonomo's G1 to 250 enticer top end swap. Happy reading. there are 69 pages.
