Default spark plug wire

I was working on my g22 last night and went to take the plug out to check it. When I removed the plug wire the plug was separate from the wire. The insode of the cap was full of corrosion and there is a big blob of what looks like solder on the wire end. I guess my question is is this supposed to be like this? Separate wire and plug cap, or are they supposed to belike this. I have never heard of this if this is right. Thanks.

All Yamaha golf cars use a "screw on" spark plug cap. Don't know about the "solder"? I would take a pair of dikes and cut back the spark plug wire a 1/4 inch or so to get a clean straight edge and screw the cap back in. Or get a new cap and do the same thing. Good luck Dave
