Default G9 predator 420 swapout

New here as this is my first post. Looking forward to directions and shortcuts to put a predator 420 into a stock g9. Going to be doing it over the next month and would like to only purchase what i have to to get it running for now then trick it out later. A parts list would be great too. My confusion is due to me keeping the stock generator. I”m searching other forums but didnt find right one yet. Thanks in advance...

So i picked up my g9 with the motor taken out and partialy apart. Im a tinkerer so i figured no big deal. Then i found parts missing so after spending about $250 got the cart all together started and ran ok til she started smoking. Turns out has blown oil ring at the least. So take motor back out and apart to find piston a little sloppy and already bored 50 over. So ran out and got a 420. Now im already into this machine for 1400 and i got nothing to install this at all. Now my back has gone out and im trying to do this on a low budget. And now the clutch tool stripped so the one thing that i could’ve used i can’t get off...any suggestions about any of this would be helpful so i can get on with build.

I read til my eyes were crossed and came up with a simple plan and started ordering parts and as i go making newbie mistakes haha. Wasn’t as simple as I thought. After my FOURTH order I think I may have enoungh to get it running. I’ll start posting pics this week when I get back to it. It’s at my seasonal camp site that I see only on the weekends for the most part. I realized I cant use original clutch with a 1” shaft so....I’ ordered
1. Comet 780 clutch
2. Vegas mounting plate
3. Starter/generator mount
4. Flat air filter
5. Short studs
6. Tractor muffler
7. Threaded Exhaust flange
8. Black pipe fittings and pipe
9. New rear engine mount (mine was broke)
10. Longer drive belt
11. And pulley for s/g
Last of the parts should be here in couple of days....can’t wait!

Cool, make sure you show some pictures during or after the build.

Come on down to the Big Block section "Clone Engine Swaps" and post your build there. We'll help you with any problems, good luck.

Are you running the stock air filter?

It's possible that if you have a different air filter (or none) that you are now running lean, or getting too much air. You might have to get the jetted carb from Vegas Carts. It's a little larger than a stock clone carb and it's jetted to run at variable throttle points.

Yes I have the pancake style filter that flows better and also a less restrictive exhaust which don’t get me wrong runs great when you give it gas but around idle speed is where I want to improve.
