Yamaha g1 brake issues
I have looked up the signal number and it tells me it's a g1 AMD. I ordered brakes and they are not the same as original. From all the pictures I have seen when I look to order different ones and they look just like the ones i got that don't fit. I will attach pictures that show the difference.

Re: Yamaha g1 brake issues
G1's 1979 to 1981 use J10 brake shoes. 1982 and up use (see the stamping J17 on the original shoe?) the correct brake shoe set for you would be J55-W2536-00-00. Be ware of after market brakes, the compound they use will NOT stop you. Good luck

Re: Yamaha g1 brake issues
Thank you, you have been very helpful. I'm pretty sure the air filter, fuel filter, and brakes were all original. I have never seen an air filter that bad. Installing accessories and repairing the cart for my neighbor. The brake shoe on one side was worn thru the metal for over half of it and the drum was paper thin. He was telling me he couldn't stop very well, lmao. You can see the brake pad and drum in the first pic on the table.
