MadJax Hitch
Why a class 3 hitch size? No idea. But doesn't matter, what's a few ounces. For sure class 3 are most common so one can use hitches they already own, I guess.
The only problem I had is the tube that bolts to the underside of back seat footboard was way too long toward the front. Had to saw off 1" so it would clear the plastic cart rear bumper. |

Re: MadJax Hitch
It would seem to me not only the variety and availability of ball mounts, but other hitch mounted accessories are sized with class III tubes. Like bike carriers, luggage racks, etc.
Smaller class hitches tend to require a solid bar rather than a 2" od tube. Another hassle for someone like me who enjoys fabbing their own hitch mounted accessories. |
