Default Yamaha Drive clutch question.

I see and heard they made 2 different clutches for the Yamaha drive. 07+. I have an 07 and looking at maybe doing a plowman's setup over this winter but need a new primary as its worn good (both are really). Are the 12+ better then the teams?? I have a chance to get a 2015 clutch from a local that has 8hrs on it, He went to a plowmans setup right after new. That way when I do a plowmans I will have a good Primary to send him and heard he uses the new style rear anyways?

Talked to Don last night at Plowmans. I guess im going to hold off on changing clutches. His kit is complete with new clutches that he then builds. I was told he rebuilds your primary so I was wonderinf about the differences. Looks like I will be dropping a kit in sooner then later!

I ordered his kit last week should be here today. I’ll post the results as soon as I have time to install it.

I can't comment on the G29, but Don's Hot Setup and clutches for the G16 and G22 are top notch.

Mine is an 07. Would a almost new 2015 new clutch design with like 7 hrs on it be worth it? Can get one locally for $275 and then do a new severe duty belt? Im only going to be running stock size tires and running it at the motocross track so speed isnt a huge factor. Just proper down shifting and having the right belt placement for taking off and some hills. Just wondering if that over plowmans would be sufficient for the money saved.

I have an '07 Drive as well, with the Team clutch setup. My secondary was worn so thin that there were holes forming. So I had to buy a new unit. Don Plowman set it up with the proper spring for how I was using the cart. He also rebuilt my primary, and added an internal spring to keep the primary sheeves fully open at startup, which eliminated the "grabbing" that sometimes happens on startup.
Highly recommend Plowman. I had been considering swapping out the Team clutches, but Don dialed them in so well, that I see no reason to change them now.

If you can get both clutchs and belt for $275, I’d do it.
