I Love It! Did you make any sort of "gate" so it can't flop around while bouncing around?

LOVE IT!! Excellent repurposing, [until you need that strong bar that is.] Now you need to find a long skinny boot for the floor. [Maybe a parking brake boot from something might work.] Really nice to see a custom mod that is not from a credit card!!!

No gates for now,may need one later we will see. The shifter is setup tight and the weight of the brackover bar if heavy enough to stay in forward gear with ease. Now, neutral and reverse is a little easer to shift. With that said the shifter is easy and very smooth.

Nice job! Looks great! I've done a couple and the shifter gate is a good idea...

Thanks to everyone,it will more than likely get the shift gate. That will be lots easier than replacing the rear end.I can just see the shifter bounce into reverse at high speed and rough ground.

I have to finish my position lock or the piece that keeps it in gear. My linkage setup is as smooth as silk and the shift lever falls in to neutral if I don't keep my knee against it. Bob - I'm rebuilding my G2 differential -- it would be impossible for the gearbox to be shifted into either gear if the cart is moving. Keep building the shift gate cause its cool, I love the idea.

Hello Shepard,Hope everything is going well. I put a gate in the shifter if you want to call it that.Doesn't amount to much more than a large weld.It is the round hump looking thing in the picture. The shifter is snug and does not move on it's own.Neutral to drive is so smooth.Back to reverse takes just a little more pull to get pass the hump. You cant hardly even feel it go into gear.Forward to reverse with ease. This works great for me for it will be in drive 90% of the time.Need to get me a boot for it now.
