Default More power and speed G22A

We use this cart to pull a 2500 pound race car and usually there is 3 to 4 guys on the cart. We need as much speed as we can to get down to the car after each run and enough power to pull it back sometimes in small hills and stops and starts. I am going to install a bigger main jet, 2 degree hotter plug tighten up the secondary clutch spring to the c 4 setting and replace the drive belt. When I started to do this I found that the primary clutch is shot, weights and rollers flat and the shives are worn in at the top. Do I replace the clutch with a new Yamaha or go to a Comet? I know that Yamaha has improved the clutches since this one was made. The comet clutch has engagement spring does it make it harder to back up and take off or no difference?I also read on this site about the speed spring to put on the govenor on the rear end to give it more speed. If any one can guide me down the right path on what to buy that would be great.Thank you.

Either drive clutch should be fine. I think a lot of the stock Yamaha clutches now are made by comet: not completely sure.

My suggestion for torque and speed: completely bypass the governor and hook the pedal cable directly to the carb. and adjust. Also, install the spring/spacer only torque kit on the rear clutch.
