Stereo powered by key or direct to battery?
I just mounted a boozaka sound bar. This thing sounds great. About to hard wire it for power. I assume I need to get power directly from the battery. I understand the soundbar pulls a very slight charge all the times so it can detect the wireless remote even when powered off. Is there a way to interrupt that via the key switch so it is completely cut off. I am not an electrician but I assume connecting the power directly to the key switch would not be enough juice. TIA

Re: Stereo powered by key or direct to battery?
Maybe something like this?
It would be awesome to turn the key and have the radio shut down. Again I am no expert but can turn a wrench and splice wires. If this would work where would I source such a thing? Auto parts store? Home depot? TIA |

Yes you can get a relay, socket, and wire harness at an auto parts store. Or anywhere that sells a cheap universal fog light kit with relay harness. Like Walmart etc.

Re: Stereo powered by key or direct to battery?
They used to be on amazon for a few bucks, parts express had them usually. Sure that will work like a charm the key will run it, but the power will come from battery. That is how anything should be run off the key of a yamaha cart so you don't have issue with the factory wiring which is not made for accessories.

I agree with the relay to a point but if you're simply running a head unit you can splice in to the hot side of the key switch for the "signal" wire and run the constant to the battery iv had good luck doing this on my g29 the switched power is low voltage
