Default G1 fuel and oil lines

Rebuilt the engine in a buddies G1. We were thinking the oil pump might have failed, and he was ready to premix. Upon getting it back together I wanted to ensure I have the fuel and oil lines absolutely correct.

I can get the year off of it tomorrow, but this one has a single port on the crankcase.

Does the fitting on the exhaust pipe work as suction, and which port does it connect to?

I came across some pics during my search, but that case had two ports on it in the earlier thread.

Hi Mike...The exhaust hose goes on the round black diaphragm on the end of the oil pump, the small black hose to the carb. The pump is gear driven internal..The crankcase hoses(there are 2 on mine) one to the yamaha marked black plastic box on top of the engine, and the other to the fuel pump.Hope this helps.
Griff.

If the oil pump is in question leave it unhooked if the exhaust connection is sealed tight you're fine there the only other thing you have to plug is the small brass fitting going into the carb where the oil injection line goes in and premix 100:1

fuel pump is bolted to the rear diff but vacuum operated. oil pump is run off the crank per the gear on the primary clutch.

Fuel pump internal diaphragm gets a pulse from the crankcase, and actually suctions gas through the line from the tank. No electricity, no rotation ... just crankcase vacuum.

Check this sticky by Doomsman: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-y...fuel-pump.html

Perfect. I am assuming the crankcase port provides the vacuum?

Is the line from the exhaust port necessary?

Here's page 1-21 from the G1 repair manual. Top pic shows the tube coming off of the exhaust, and bottom show nipple #4 where it goes to the auto lube pump.

If you are not using the autolube, and are mixing you can plug this line.
