Default 07 Drive Exhaust leak - rebuild time ?

My cart has had a bog after decel on warm engine that has plagued me for some time and now has become worse, and now includes backfires. Another post here suggested I check for exhaust leak and they were right. This leak does not appear to be at the head/manifold but instead next to the exhaust pipe, and in between the fins. The exhaust gasket showed no signs of damage.
Compression (throttle depressed) 95 lbs.
This cart spent 6 years on a golf course, and i have put over 200 hrs on it after routine mods/upgrades, including the Plowman kit.

It seems like it might be time to do the top end rebuild. I have heard the lower ends hold up pretty good. Looking for suggestions on how to proceed. A step-by-step guide to tear-down would also be helpful

Thanks in advance -- appreciate any input you can provide.

p.s. I think the suggestion to look at the exhaust side was from SmallBlock - thanks sir.................

Pull the head and send it to Plowmans for a professional porting, polishing and rebuild.
