Default 2002 Yamaha gas cart questions

Good morning everyone. I am new here and would like to say that I have enjoyed the tremendous amount of information available on this forum. It has helped fuel my want for a cart.

I have found a 2002 Yamaha gas cart from a dealer that has serviced it since it was new and leased to a golf course. It has a new limited edition body, top, seats, tune-up/service, and wheel covers.(<----Dealer's words)
They are asking $ 1900.00. I plan to go look at it Thursday. I thought I would ask a few questions regarding the cart:

Are there any issues specific to that model year gas cart?(engine or frame)
What should I be checking structurally since the cart is cosmetically refurbished?(Check - front-end, rear-end, etc)
It seemed a little odd for the cart to have all the changes to it for the price they are asking?
The price seems to be fair for all the updates and IF it is in good overall condition structurally and mechanically. Any opinions?

Thanks for any help!

Welcome to the forum. I would hurry to the dealer with a check in my hand before its gone. That is a great price for a dealer cart that has been regularly serviced. More or less just look over the cart really well for any rust or damage. Check the rear clutch system to make sure the ramp shoes (little black plastic square pieces on the diamond shaped cogs on the rear clutch sheave are still intact), that will show how much driving and wear has been on the cart. Look at the belt for wear. Drive the cart up a hill to make sure it still has plenty of power and check the brakes on the way down. I would say you've found a great deal on a good cart.

Thanks guys. I just called the dealer to tell them I would be there in the morning to drive the cart and purchase if it checks out. The lady said I have been trying to find your number because I sold it this morning to some people who looked at it last week. Man, I am bummed............

You need the cart patch to help with the cravings and detox if you have to wait that long.

Wait for it! It'll be worth it. I have the same cart with 0 issues in 4 years. It can be as fast or slow as you want it to be. It has a great little engine that just wants to run. And I have no problems finding upgrades.
