Question G29, Plowmans clutch setup but having starting issues.

Ok guys, I bought Plowmans extreme lifted performance kit. It’s been on maybe 5 hrs total. When it’s starting the engine, it’s making the cart move while it’s trying to start in both directions. This in turn makes it harder to start as it’s dragging or slowing the engine down when it’s turning over. If I put it in neutral, it’ll fire right up and you can hear it’s spinning a little faster. This is with a warm / hot engine also, not an engine that has been sitting over night. So when it doesn’t start, while cranking it, the cart is slowly moving. I can be starting for 5 seconds and it will move a few feet but it will not fire up. Put it in neutral right after this, it fires right up. It’s a 75 / 25 % gamble if it’ll start while in gear. It reminds me of the stock POS clutches when they go out. It will stick partially closed and moves the cart while trying to start it.

The drive clutch is open all the way, every time I look at it. The driven clutch is closed all the way. Both seem to be functioning properly. Is the belt to short or maybe no good now? Or is it a drive clutch issue closing a bit while starting ? Or is it something else?

Could it be a battery and or starter/generator issue? Low voltage and or weak, worn brushes?

I hope so as I paid good money for this setup.
But let’s say the battery is week, what about the movement while it’s starting?
That’s my main issue.
