Pushrod not going up or down
I have a G14 Yamaha it's not been running very well and will probably go up hills for the last year all of a sudden started running differently so I took it off the top head when I get so I noticed that one of the valve rods was I going up and down and I can even take it out with my hand I want to know where I should start trying to fix this. I am a newbie so please take it easy.
I have pictures and videos please let me know how to upload those on this site |

Re: Pushrod not going up or down
IS the push rod broken? or not moving up and down at all? There should be a "ball" on each end of it.
If it's not moving at all, and the other one is, you probably have a broken camshaft, or possibly the lobe has worn off? I've seen this happen on older polaris 4wheelers (425/500 late 90's/early 00's) but don't know that it's common on these. Either way if the push rod isn't broken, and just not moving, the engine is going to need to be torn down to isolate the root cause of the failure. |
