Default How fast is too fast?

Question for you guys. I just installed a speed spring on my 2012 gas drive and to my surprise that $30 piece of wire made a HUGE difference. With lots of adjustment left I am getting almost 29mph. What I want to know is if getting it to run that fast will affect engine life. I already run Moble 1 but dont want to burn it up. Cart has a 3" Daves and 20x10x12 tires if it makes a difference.

I have the VC 625 in my G16, 6” lift with 22” tires, I clocked it 40, I don’t run it hard very often, it’s been over a year and going strong for me.

Governor parts on the Team input shaft are the most common failure on that axle.

Most damage from over rev is valvetrain. I would get a tachometer and don't drive over 4500 rpm for very long. Over 4500 and you could get valve float which will cause your valvetrain to fail. If the cart is running nicely now, stick to about 25 mph, that should be in the 4000 rpm range I'm guessing. Watch your overall speed too, golf cart suspensions were not meant to be stable at high speeds when the road is rough. The suspension travel is maybe 3-4" and if you max out in a pot hole at speed it could spell trouble. Steering can get a little twitchy too.
