Less power after changer oil question ?
Hi All
Today I change my motor oil and differential. After a small ride 10 minutes I loose engine power. My cart is G9 with 7" lift kit and 23" tires. So I put 10W30 oil it's ok or I need to use SAE30 ? And 80W90 it's ok for rear differential ? Thanks for your help. |

Welcome to BGW!!
Your oil sounds OK, just make sure you use 1 quart in the engine. Some of the dip sticks were mis-marked and you may have it over filled. |

Thanks TheNewGuy for your reply.
I read on the forum some people use SAE30 for rear, what do you think about that ? Also for the problem about less power, my battery just empty ... That's why I think |

10w30 for the engine and 75w90 for the differential. You may have accidentally overfilled. Check your airbox to see if it has dumped quite a bit of oil into it from the pcv.

Thanks spriddle,
How ml (oz.) you put in the engine and differential ? Probably right about overfilled, now my cart smoke a lot. I'll check the airbox and can clean the pcv or you have another way to resolve it ? Thanks again, |

Drain the oil out of the engine and add one quart, no more.

Re: Less power after changer oil question ?
One quart for the engine and I usually just fill the dif. close to the fill hole. It will more than likely leak a little while driving but I've never had a problem.
For the airbox oil problem: I pull the hose going to the airbox, plug the inlet on the airbox, install a longer hose on the pcv on the valve cover, put a fuel filter about middleways somewhere in the line (flow arrow pointing out so it will breathe), and run the hose down beside the engine passenger side and out the back of the cart. It will leak a little as well after time but no more oil in the airbox. |
