Default G1 Running very hot?

Came back from a drive today and the cart frame was burning hot to the touch.. Pulled the cover back and revealed the exhaust was extremely hot and smoking.

I have not pulled the plug yet to see what color it is..

I still have this on the auto oil injector.. Been told to plug that line and just mix my own gas...

I am thinking this may be the problem but if the oil was not mixing I am guessing it would have seized pretty quick..

Anyone have any other issues that may cause this that I can trouble shoot just to make sure?

Could it be that it is running on full throttle too much?

first check your plug. you want it to be tan. not white (lean) or black (rich) pull your engine shrouds off and see if the fins are stuffed full of mud or other debris.

Its also possible your muffler is plugged due to years of carbon build up. in that case with BBQ it, cut it open and clean it, or buy a plowmans pipe.

Hey Mike.... if the exhaust is plugged with that give you the occasional backfire? pulling plug today to check it... don't want to pull exhaust until gaskits arrive.. Thinking about buying the plowman either way..

shouldn't have to change a gasket, pull the 2 springs from manifold to exhaust and the muffler straps and it will slide off.

I would think a back fire could be a lean condition. give the carb a good cleaning. are you having to choke it a lot?
