Default Primary Clutch Removal Tool

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me the difference(s) between the early G1-22 primary clutch removal tool and the Team removal tool please. I've tried to find the info online and within this forum but no dice.

Is the thread the same on both?

Got one today for an engine rebuild and haven't had to touch one previously.

Thanks in advance,
Rob

Thread is not the same at all. As far as what the thread is, I haven't measured the one at work.

I know you can get them very reasonable price at G-boost. They have 2 versions of most tools, the slightly more expensive is lifetime warranty.

Thanks cgtech,

Appreciate the response, any chance you can measure the OD of the thread please? I can work it out from there.

I don't have a problem buying one but haven't found one locally (Australia). International shipping from the US has gone up exponentially over the past few years and I really don't have a week or so to wait. I can buy a suitable high tensile bolt today and cut a length of round bar for the rest.

Cheers,
Rob

Suplementary question,

Just found an additional issue on this cart when I removed the belt. Is it usual for the secondary clutch sheaves to wear completely through? I mean I can put four fingers through the couple of holes on the inner one and the outer isn't through but is sure worn out.

According to the hour meter this cart only has 74 hours on it.....

Cheers,
Rob

What year and model cart? If you've got holes in the sheaves, it's trash...

I have only seen one worn through, but I have definitely heard stories of that.

Threads are 16x1.5mm. pay attention to the step at the small end (it is smaller to prevent crank damage). Thread pitch gauge was included for basic length measurements.

Also, yes I know mine is a little bent.

Thanks very much for that cgtech, I appreciate the extra mile you went with the ruler.

My earlier one is more than a little bent too, comes with the territory I think.

I realised the clutch is toast but was just curious as to whether it was a common malady with them. This is the fist one I've seen anywhere near that bad. It's a 2009 YDRA with Team clutching. I went out and had a look in daylight this AM and it's got holes in two seperate places on the fixed sheave, the sliding sheave and both on the Drive clutch all have visible wear ridges.

I need to find somewhere to host photos and will post an image of it. Who do you use?

Appreciate your help,

Cheers,
Rob

Click "go advanced", click the paperclip, that will allow you to post pics directly to the site.

Pictures are in order of operation

Thanks cgtech,

That'll teach me not to "go advanced".

Anyhow, two pics of the fixed sheave, they were taken 180' apart so two sets of holes. I can only find a complete clutch online, Partzilla has no sheaves nor clutch assemblies. $US283 which comes in at a bit over $A500 landed here.

The other photo is the reason for the engine rebuild, the golf course think they are saving money by blowing out the air filter element for a few years on all their carts. This is the second engine and they're still doing it.

Love visiting AZ by the way, I have very good friends in the Williamson Valley.

Cheers,
Rob
