with all the great oils on the market there is no reason to use an additive!! even the small engines with a full pressure oiling system can't handle thick oil. i have a large pile of smoked engines with twisted off oil pump drives or striped gears. to me oil additives are just like putting a band aid on a bullet wound.

I've seen oil pumps on trucks give out due to an overload of Lucas. I always advise anyone, for a car or truck, if your going to use an additive, just put about 1/4 cup or less to 5 quarts.

| Not Yet Wild | Well I can see this is all do to my comment. I do only use about 2 tablespoons, just for the leak down factor. I should have been more specific.... |

I had a G9 that someone had left off the rod splasher device. That was one screwed up engine they were always having to adjust the valves because there wasn't oil being splashed to the top end and wear was continuous. So do not use thickening agents to your oil! I have always believed that if they did that much good the oil refiner would use a similar compound in their oil!

I used a engine treatment to restore valve oil seals on my camaro and it did jack-all for the engine. Iv heard lots of motors blown up do to engine treatments, which break loose crap in motor then seize motor up, for numerous reasons. Dont use them in any motor. It is a money grabbing scam.
