What thread bolts needed to remove rear clutch?
I'm getting ready to install the torque spring and got stuck on getting it apart. I all ready got the 17mm nut off and soaked it with some penatrating lube. I got a balancer/steering wheel puller and it didn't come with the right bolts.
What size/thread bolts do I need to remove the outer sheave with the puller? Thanks |

M6 x 1,0 (6mm). Make sure they are long enough, mine are about 2 1/2".

I already got the puller, it just didnt come with bolts that fit. I'll head out to the hardware store and pick them up. Thanks again. |

Re: What thread bolts needed to remove rear clutch?
I just installed the power torque spring on mine Saturday.
Had same problem and got a steering wheel puller from hardware store too. The install wasn't quite as easy as I'd hoped but not too bad. Got the spring in after a couple hours of busting knuckles and swearing. Sorry to say can;t really tell any difference in how the cart runs other than losing some top end. Steve |

Re: What thread bolts needed to remove rear clutch?
go load your cart up with 4 people and then see what a difference it makes. the torque spring is the biggest difference you can make to a stock motored cart
bolts are same here m6 by 2.5 inches. you have to ignore the steering wheel puller bending and just crank on it more |

Re: What thread bolts needed to remove rear clutch?
Shawn - thanks for the info.
one other thing on getting that secondary sheave off - I used a hand held propane torch to help persuade mine off. I used the steering wheel puller and cranked it as tight as I could but the sheave still would not budge. So I heated the sheave all around the shaft. Then I would smack the end of the wheel puller with a hammer. Heated some more. I repeated the process - on the third time the sheave popped loose. Steve |

Re: What thread bolts needed to remove rear clutch?
I got it done yesterday and noticed alot already. I took it out to the greenbelt down the street and up one of the little hills with me and my 2 kids. It went up easier then it did with just me on it before the install.
The engine braking is very noticable. I still need to adjust the govenor but does seem like alittle bit of top end was lost. I got some good hills at the local ride spot to really test it out this week. |
