i have changed valve cover gasket, that is the one on very top, correct, oil seems to be coming from under to around half way down around motor and it is getting all over, like being sprayed around from wind or air movement, i am hoping it is not head gasket, could the block have a crack, thanks

dawpy, there is no "gasket" down there, the block and cylinder are one piece. There is a crankcase cover gasket, but it doesn't sound like that's the problem....Have you checked your air box setup? Also check the top and bottom rubber connections on the vent that runs up hte back of the engine to your valve cover.........

no you can change head gasket with out pulling the motor. i would doubt it would be the head gasket. like cart de golf said. make sure you only have one quart of oil in the motor if more they will blow oil. the dip sticks are marked wrong on G9.

hello thanks for the responses, i am sure i have only 1 quart of oil in engine, i replaced the long hose from air filter box to valve cover with a soft hose and it kinks a little at bend, old hose was stiffer, i will change it and the one behind engine, it could be bad but oil does not seem to be coming from that area, but it could be blowing around fron there, not sure if i am looking at motor mount but seems to be more oil on it and around it, my cart is at campground and will be going there this weekend, thanks dan

Could be the side case gasket is "blown". Usually "blows" between the 2 bolts between were the dip stick is located. I could never tell when and if one would do it, but G2/G9/G8/G14's were all the same gasket. The gasket's have a sealer applied to them in the critical area's. Look real close at the engine were the dip stick is, alot of oil seepage?....most likly case gasket. Good luck Dave
