The injection runs up to 100:1 ratio at low throttle, but much more at high throttle maybe 30:1 I'm guessing to handle higher loads...and then no smoke at low loads. If you run it hard I'd say run at least 40:1 using a quality oil maybe 32:1. If you take it easy all of the time you might get away with 50:1. I would leave it on but up to you. I don't recall what breaks in them, never had that problem. It will smoke more without the injection.

I also plan on getting rid of the oil injection. Is there a write up on this? I want to run Klotz in the gas tank.

Believe it or not, the manufacturers recommend 128:1 for golf cart use. 1 oz per gallon.
1.5 oz. per gallon for heavy use.
I couldn't believe and still find it hard to believe. Then I was told why. It goes something like this...Because the timing is retarded for reverse, these motors don't have the capacity to advance the timing to achieve the higher RPM of other 2 cycles...like chainsaws and weed eaters and 2 cycle motorcycles and sleds.
My brother had an old harley, ran 50:1 and never had a problem. Take that as you want. I would run 50:1 and not tell anyone...
I'll see if I can't find the last thread on this.

If you remove the oil injection pump, do you need to cap the hole that's left?
