New to this sit g9 won't charge
Having problems with my g9 not charging already replaced the starter-gen??

Check the wiring installation on the starter/generator: G9 starter/generator is setup like this: F2 (front of st/gen) connects to short pos. cable coming off the solinoid, A1 (passenger side bottom) connects to the neg. side of battery, A2 (passenger side top) wraps around to the back of the starter/generator to F1 (small red cable from side to back of st/gen.). If this is ok, check your regulator over the driver's side rear fender well. Should be around 12.5 or so volts if I remember right going to battery. |

Yes the do go bad. If you can, find a buddies cart that is 1990 and up, they all use the same automatic voltage regulator (avr). Plug it in and read the battery volts, should be 14.5 to 15.5 as the engine revs up. Good luck Dave

Keep in mind they started making the G9 in 91 so if it is OEM you or someone got 15ish or better years out of it.
Yamaha's are tough carts....... |
