G-22 steering problem
I had my G-22 cart in the garage for a couple of weeks while the body was being painted. After reinstalling the body I am having trouble with the steering as it will turn about quarter way very easily them it gets hard to turn till about half them easy again. Does this in both directions. Any ideas? It was just fine prior to this the last time it was driven. Thanks for any help. Oh if it matters it is all stock.

Re: G-22 steering problem
Ok the body was off and now it is hard steering. Are all the inner panels, mud flaps clearing every thing?

Re: G-22 steering problem
As far as I can see there are no interferences with anything.

Re: G-22 steering problem
Good advice "CDG". There is no way taking off the body could cause a problem like that, that I know of, must have been that way from the start. Yamaha "racks" on the G22 are off centered to the drivers side, If turned all the way to the passanger side and you hit something hard, you can bend the rack (because it is fully exteneded out of the housing). I useually, jack up the front end, and with my finger, turn the steering wheel from "lock to lock", if you feel any "bind" or "tight spot", most likely bent rack gear. I have found that this bent rack will damage the bearing in the housing. Bent tie rods can be checked 2 ways. You can "try" to adjust them, if they will not turn in a 360 degree rotation, bent tie rod or you can loosen the "rubber" boot clamp and see if the tie rod is damaged. Good luck on your project. Dave
