G8 gas HELP!!!
OK, I have a g8, lifter, speed spring, clutch spring, runs good... until...
Today, I was using it to haul people from the parking lot to the track at the local CC for the Relay for Life walk. After about 4 hours of this, it started hesitating and missing, poping and sputtering when I was alone in the cart. BUT, when I had 2-4 people and there junk in the cart, ran like a champa and pulled up the hill no problem.... Any ideas... could it have just gotten really hot??? Any help would be appreciated as I have to do it again tomorrow...I hope...LOL! thanks, Mike |

Re: G8 gas HELP!!!
I'll try the plug tomorrow, I also forgot to mention, when it backfires, it will run normal for just a second, then back to the sputtering and poping and running bad, also seems to run OK from a stop, until it gets going... like 5-6 mph, then it starts doing it....

Re: G8 gas HELP!!!
Mike, I am also new here and have a G8. I am just wondering if when you were moving that fuel line, you moved a loose wire? I would check for a loose connection all around that area, because on a G8 thats where everything is. Sounds like electrical to me.

Re: G8 gas HELP!!!
Hey Mike ! I also have a G8 and had a similar problem. Wound up being water in the gas tank. I don,t know if it was condensation or bad gas. Drained the tank and started using BP gas 89 octane runs great now. Saw the picture of yours where can i get a lift kit and light kit for this model ? Thanks

Re: G8 gas HELP!!!
OK... here is another piece to the puzzle. When the cart was running poorly, I noticed the air that is usually in the fuel filter (the filter is always about 3/4 full of fuel and has a small air pocket) was not there. It was all filled up with gas. Today when I was looking at it, the air space is back.... Just saying... and I got a new fuel filter to install tomorrow.... Jus sayin!!!!

Re: G8 gas HELP!!!
Oregon, that air shouldn't make any difference. Unless, when it gets warm it vapor locks. But i doubt it. Anyway, try to purge the air out by tipping the down stream end of the filter up. I suppose the same thing could be happening in the fuel pump(vapor lock). I'd still be playing with the electrical (coil, igniter, plug wire, or 12 volt source)! good luck!!
