Default G2 wont start

well, to sum up a really long night... I ran my Yamaha G2 through a MONSTROUS puddle and now it wont start. It made it through the puddle with no problem and ran fine afterward. I then stopped to celebrate and it wouldn't start again. Its been sitting for 12 hours now and it still wont start. It doesn't even try to kick over, its just a dead dog. Any ideas?

Check the fuse on the drivers side rear inner fender.

well, im gonna start up this old thread again since the same problem happened. last time this happened, i went to work on the cart the following weekend and it just started up without me doing anything. i assumed something just got wet and needed to dry. it been a few months now with no problems and the same thing happened again after going through a decent sized puddle.

someone told me that it might be the switch at the pedal thats getting wet? anyhow, if anyone has ideas please share :) thanks!

If you do think it is the "stop switch", when it wont run, disconect the 2 wires (red and brown) and use a volt meter on continuity setting and test the switch. You should have no continuity when the pedal is not pushed and continuity when the pedal is pushed.

awesome, ill give that a try. if it is indeed the "stop switch", wouldn't it be possible to mount a new switch somewhere else, reroute the wire, and use it as a "kill switch" ?

If it is not your pedal switch, check to make sure the little rubber covers on the starter/generator are not missing and allowing water to splash up into the starter/generator.
