I bought a 2005 Yamaha gas powered cart Monday, and I don't know beans about it. I'd sure appreciate any help y'all can give. How do I find the model number ? Does the trans axle need servicing ,like oil replacement ? It's got forward and reverse, does it have a neutral ? lol, Right now , I know it's green and ya put gas in it , and thats about it. Thanks your help.

Welcome! Your cart should be a G22. The serial# is located between the driverside storage area and the rubber front body trim. Should start with JUO-then 5 numbers. You can take the rubber cap off the transaxle rear cover and 80/90 weight gear oil should just run out or be at the edge of the hole. If you put the f/r handle 1/2 way between f/r you have neutral. If you have other questions....just ask. Good luck on your new toy. Dave

You should go to the "big block" section for questions like this. But I'll tell you the torque is amazing. I really like to see 18 to 23 hp engines because they are increasing the hp from the stock by so much. Last note, when you buy or get just the engine...there are parts that will drive the cost up alot. Make shure its a horizontal shaft 1"/keyed.
